Ryze and Fuzzy Interviewed by GameZone

September 26th, 2012

Recently the good people over at GameZone sat down with two members of the compLexity family, coL.SC2’s Ryze and coL.Academy’s Fuzzy. In the interview, GameZone’s Dustin Steiner asks about everything from compLexity’s team atmosphere to each player’s thoughts on Heart of the Swarm.

To find out what Ryze and Fuzzy think about eSports and StarCraft II, read the full interview here.

This is a great opportunity and honor for compLexity, especially considering that GameZone is not a strictly eSports website. Usually progamer interviews show up on eSports specific websites like TeamLiquid. All of us at compLexity are happy to see a more “general gaming” focused website take a closer look at the eSports world.

compLexity takes 2nd in Vanguard Gaming Open

compLexity takes 2nd in Vanguard Gaming Open

After a succesful first day of the Vanguard Gaming Open, compLexity.HoN has fallen short in the finals stage of the tournament by going down 2-0 to TradeMark eSports. Unfortunately due to some personal circumstances, Jeppe “Haxxeren” Jenson was unable to play in the days tournament, meaning coL.HoN had to use a ringer.

The regular substitute, Mark “Ensoe” Maljik” was also unable to make the matches so thankfully Mark “Tralfamadore” Seidl, a former member of the team turned commentator for Honcast stepped up to sub in for the team and helped them to at least make the Grand Final of the tournament.

This is the first loss the team has had under the compLexity banner and the team has so far done an amazing job in representing the team in HoN competitions. With this second place finish the team still takes home $500.

compLexity Signs Sasquatch from coL Academy

September 21st, 2012

Today compLexity is excited to announce the official signing of  Gage “Sasquatch” Dubose. This marks the second “graduation” we have had from the compLexity Academy. Gage had an outstanding run at MLG Raleigh defeating some big names. He has since moved into the compLexity Gamma Gamers House in Houston, Texas where he has been able to train with his new teamates, as part of the coL Academy’s initiative to develop up and coming talent.

Check out Gage’s run through MLG Raleigh 2012 and his official signing to the team in the video below!

Jason Bass, Chief Operating Officer of compLexity Gaming, had the following to say:

When we came up with the concept of the Academy, it was always our hope that we would find a diamond in the sea of talent. Gage has shown from his performance, work ethic and attitude that he is absolutely the type of player we look for. We are thrilled to welcome him to the team and look forward to great things from him in the future.

Michael Shane, Academy Commissioner, had the following to say.

It was a pleasure having Sasquatch in the Academy. He is a hard working and motivated player. I’m very excited to see his continued development on compLexity’s featured SC2 team.

Michael Shane – Academy Commissioner

Please join us in welcoming Gage to the compLexity family!

PG2: coL.GanZi vs. SlayerS_Alicia – NASL

September 21st, 2012

Tonight compLexity’s star Terran player GanZi will be playing his first match of the NASL season. Taking on his former teammate SlayerS_Alicia, GanZi is going to have to bring his A game, especially considering Alicia’s recent successes (2nd place at the last three MLG events). That said, we at compLexity are very confident in GanZi’s play and expect to see some great games.

The match will start out on the map Whirlwind, a very big map that emphasizes macro play. On the other hand because the map is so big and promotes macro play, it allows players to “metagame” their opponents by pulling out an unexpected all-in. After Whirlwind, the losing player will get to choose the next map from the NASL map pool.

The broadcast is scheduled to start at 9:00PM EST and can be watched here. If the free standard definition stream isn’t high enough quality, you can upgrade to a HD pass for $19.99 here. Please tune in and cheer for GanZi as he tries to take down one of the strongest Protoss players around.
