coL Academy in IGN Pro Team League

August 12th, 2012

Today the compLexity Academy is proud to announce that it will be participating in the IGN Pro Team League Season 1 in the Amateur bracket.

Currently the prize pools and additional scheduling have yet to be announced. What is known, however, is that the top four teams from the Amateur division will be placed into the Contender Division (where the main compLexity squad is seeded) next season.

The league will follow the standard best-of-9 all-kill format. For those who are unfamiliar, this is the same format the GSTL uses. Basically each team fields at least five players. Each team blindly picks one starting player. The winner stays, while the losing team gets to pick the next player as well as what map they will play on.

As of right now there is no information on whether or not the Amateur bracket games will be streamed. As the first match grows closer expect to see a post detailing each team’s roster as well as stream information is available.

August 12th, 2012

Post-Game

CompLexity.DotA take the series 3-1 in dominating fashion, and have won The Defense 2 over Mousesports! That’s two tournament wins in two days. GG!

Pre-Game

The final day of the Defense 2 has come, and compLexity.DotA are sitting in prime position to take it all. Coming into the match, our coL squad have a record of 8-3 in the Defense, and are looking to win only three more matches and take the crown. The series will be played out as a Bo5, with coL.DotA having no advantage over their opponents from winning the upper-bracket final. We have an impressive record all-time against Mouz, with coL taking 5 of 6 matches. CompLexity also has a positive record against CLG, winning 3 of 4 games total, including yesterdays intense matches.

Our CompLexity.DotA team will also be playing against CLG in the knockout stages of the BTS World Tour afterwards, and are looking to advance and face North-American rivals EG.

coL.DotA has been on a hot-streak as of late, can we continue on and take The Defense 2 prize? You can catch the start of the stream, beginning with the lower-bracket final at 11:00AM EDT, or as always, inside the Dota 2 client.
