MOBA Weekly – Episode #39

MOBA Weekly is a production headlined by three hosts and a weekly guest and will feature discussions about news, game development, eSports, strategies, rumors and more. The weekly show will serve one of the largest overall communities in the world of gaming:  the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (or “MOBA”) scene that includes DotA 2, League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth.

The hosts of the show will be Adnan “Darthozzan” Dervisevic (DotA 2), Ken “xanderk” Smith (HoN) and Shaun “FourCourtJester” Delaney (LoL).  Each host will have 30 minutes to discuss his respective game and 30 minutes will be reserved for the guest interview. Thanks for your support!

Tonight compLexity’s qxc will be playing Bling from team Dignitas in the “Holiday Show Match” hosted by Cliff’s Esports Corner & LXG’s NanMan. Kicking off at 8:00pm EST, the best-of-7 series will see the winner take home $50 while the loser get $25.

The format of the showmatch is relatively simple, loser picks next map from map pool and maps may only be used once.

The map pool will consist of:

Post-Game

The last day of group stages in the Defense 2 begins today, and compLexity are at the top of Group 3 with an undefeated record of 4-0. Their last test before the round of 16 comes in the form of Swedish team 4-Friends + Chrillee. With a win, coL.DotA will take their group and at the same time, keep the swedes winless after 5 matches.

Today is the 4th of July, a day for parties, food, and fireworks. It is also a day where we recognize the freedoms that have been provided for us by our founding fathers, and currently the freedoms that are being defended by our men overseas. As always, we at the Syndicate wish everyone a happy, yet safe 4th of July. Don’t forget what this holiday is about.

Post-Game

coL.DotA is back on the battlefield today, defending their spot at #1 in the ProDota2 American league standings (which they took with a decisive win over EG a few days ago) against team Skill Difference. Both teams enter the match with little information on the other, with only one game played in their history. However, the compLexity DotA squad has been on a roll against fellow NA teams, taking 9 out of 11 official matches.

With the ProDota2 league soon coming to a close, coL.DotA will have to buckle down and play their game if they want to retain that first position. You’ll be able to catch the match starting at 6:00PM EDT, 3:00PM PDT and it will be casted by Luminous.

Pre-Game

In his return to GSL, compLexity’s Heart will face off against MVP’s Protoss player Lure in the GSL Code A Round of 48. In yesterday’s OSL qualifiers, Heart fell to ZeNEX Life (Zerg) while Lure was a match away from qualifying for the OSL. Lure dropped his final bracket match to New Star HoSeo’s Seal (Protoss).

The loser will drop to Code B while the winner will move on and get the privledge of taking on SlayerS Zerg player, YuGiOh in the Code A, Round 32.

The match is set to begin at 21:00 KST (2:00 PM CET / 5:00 AM PDT / 8:00 AM EDT) and will be streamed LIVE on GomTV!

The Complexity DotA squad returns today, looking to sit firmly at the top of their group by defeating the only other undefeated team, Uebelst Gamyng. Complexity, who won both of their matches convincingly yesterday, will have to deal with the tough Germans and their newest addition, fearless ganker KuroKy. Tomorrow will mark the first time these two teams have played each other in an official match, so you will not want to miss this fierce duel.

The game is set to start at 3:45PM EDT, 12:45PM PDT and will be casted by Tobi-Wan. You can also watch from within the Dota 2 client for only $5! It’s a great way to help eSports grow and evolve.

This past weekend, compLexity battled our way through the playoffs of the EG Master’s Cup Series League where we took on SlayerS, Fnatic and Mousesports in a double elimination bracket. coL.SC2 managed to go undefeated in the Upper Bracket, eventually securing a victory in the Grand Finals after some amazing play from our players. 

Below are some of the highlights from the event:

Today, coL.DotA continues their run through the TPL as they take on Mousesports in week 10 of the league. Both teams are looking to make a run late in the season, with coL currently sitting in 4th place while Mousesports currently sits in 6th place. The last time these two teams met, coL managed to take down Mouz in the joinDOTA Masters by the score of 1-0.

The match is set to begin at 11PM EDT and will be live via the stream below.
