CompLexity Takes 2nd at Blizzcon 2010

October 23rd, 2010

Update #2: The officials had decided that the match in dispute had been over the time limit and should have been completed. In the final match of the tournament, aAa managed to keep sodah drained on mana, allowing them to score the kill against coL.Red to take the tournament. With this finish, coL.Red places 2nd at Blizzcon 2010!

Update: The officials have determined that because all aAa players were alive at the 20 minute mark, the match goes to aAa and the score is now 2-2. The next match will determine the winner. Stay tuned!

After an amazingly intense bo10 series that saw CompLexity Red come from behind to take the lead into the 9th round but fall short in the final round of the match, coL Red will take home second place at Blizzcon 2010.

CompLexity will take home a $75,000 check and one of the most pretigious championships in all of gaming. The team, composed of Snutz, Venruki and Sodah, fell to aAa in the Upper Bracket Finals and were sent to the Lower Bracket where they would meet up with Lights, Camera, Action yet again. coL Red proved that they deserved the second chance and took the win against LCA in 5 rounds. In the Grand Finals, coL would need to win 6 out of the possible 10 matches to take the victory. The odds looked to be insurmountable, especially after aAa swept coL in the Upper Finals earlier in the day.

In what will go down as one of the most memorable finals matches in WoW history, the two teams found themselves in a stalemate as a majority of the rounds would require a replay due to the 20 minute time limit. This would not be any different as the two teams battled in the 9th round replay. It looked as though aAa would be able to run out the clock and secure the round based off of the first match of the map, however CompLexity aggressively went after aAa and score the first kill. aAa wouldn’t give up, however, as they played 2v3. Unfortunately, the officials had decided that the match in dispute had been over the time limit and should have been completed. In the final match of the tournament, aAa managed to keep sodah drained on mana, allowing them to score the kill against coL.Red to take the tournament.

Good game to both teams and congratulations to COMPLEXITY RED!

PG2: coL Red vs LCA – Lower Bracket Finals

October 23rd, 2010

CompLexity faced their first challenge of the tournament as they took on aAa, one of the European teams of the tournament. Unfortunately for CompLexity, a first map draw led the team to lose the first round based on damage-done. In the second map and third maps, coL couldn’t overcome the consistent pressure from aAa and went down by 0-3 to drop the series and move to the Lower Bracket Finals.

In the Lower Bracket Finals coL. Red will take on LightZ CaMerA ActioN, a team that they beat 3-0 yesterday in the first round of the Upper Bracket. The match is set to begin at 7PM EST.

October 21st, 2010

Meet Your Makers, the prestigious organization out of Russia have announced the acquisition of two former forZe players in Mihail “Dosia” Stolyarov and Sergey “Fox” Stolyarov. With this acquisition Dmitri “hooch” Bogdanov and Andrey “XomA” Mironenko have departed the team due to unknown causes.

The two brothers had this to say:

We are glad to become a part of the great MYM organization. We are really happy to start gaming with Romjke, and Edik with whom we played with in the Russian national ENC team.” We put many hopes on xek also: he is a great awp aimer. So for now we must forget about the strange situation that happened last week in forze and concentrate on the training to show good performance during IEM and local Russian events and become proved number one in Russia.

The new MYM line-up will quickly find out if they have what it takes with their new pickup as they are in action later today as they take on some of Europe’s best in the IEM European Championship.
