With the Grand Final exactly one week away, ESWC has released the seeding pools. Teams have been divided into 4 different tiers where they will be used to form the official groups (announced tomorrow). Teams from the same country can NOT be placed into the same group thanks to the special seeding system.

Dreamhack Summer 2010 is now over and mTw have been crowned the champions! The tournament started out with 16 teams and mTw and H2K were the final two.

After two exciting maps between two very good teams it is mTw from Denmark that stand at the top of the podium 100 000 SEK ($12 953) and 25 000 SEK ($3238) in KVD voucher.

First map (de_train): Already in the first half of the first map, mTw showed that it was they who were going to dominate by winning 10 rounds and only letting H2k get 5 rounds. mTw took the command in the second half as well, going up 5-1 lead before H2k won an eco and could start to grab some rounds. But FYRR73 and his men would only get 5 rounds and a score of 6-5 before mTw finished the first map with a fast rush to b siteand a 16-11 win in the first map was a fact.

Second map (de_dust2): In the first round zonic showed that he wanted his mTw to win the first prize by acing with his usp and giving his team an advantage. Even round number three was zonic’s round when he did he aced for the second time with a usp. H2K, however, didn’t give up. At the score of 5-0 to mTw, H2k picked up their game to win the first half with an 8-7 score. In the second half mTw took command back by winning their fourth pistol round out of four played. They got a 4-0 lead before H2k won their first round. H2k tried to keep up with the Danish bulldozer, but mTw proved to be too much as they too the victory and a Dreamhack Summer 2010 championship.

The final results were:

1st. mTw – €6,312 + €2,630 KVD voucher
2nd. H2K-Gaming – €3,156 + 5 MSi motherboards
3rd. MYM – €1,052

This past weekend, 4 teams took place in the Inferno Online Final4 Season 2 at Dreamhack Summer 2010. Fnatic, SK, H2K and mYm took to the stage for match after match of action from some of the world’s best teams.

In the end SK proved to be at the top of their game as they went 3-1 in the event, with their only loss being to Fnatic in the early stages of the tournament. SK was able to return the favor against Fnatic in the Grand Finals by taking out Fnatic in 2 maps (de_train and de_dust2).

The final results were:

3rd – MYM
4th –  H2K Gaming

Q & A with the creator Markus’ Xenoq “Andersson

It’s been a while since we last saw a Jaegarn video, how is it that you chose to make another one?
-Fredrik chose to retire from Counter-Strike in summer 2009 and not go full heart any longer. I thought it could be fun with a last video tribute to him.
 
Who have done what in the work process?
-I have always liked to do the intro / outro, but never really thought that the frag parts is my thing, therefore, I took Daniel “Squilla” Tayyar and “logo” to help me with the frag parts.
 
You chose to have a sneak premiere at your home before the release, how was the response?
“We got very good feedback and most guests thought it was a funny thing. I must of course thank Qpad and Kaspersky who made this event possible. It was a really relaxing evening where gamers hung out with each other without a connection to any tournament.
 
What is the future, will we see any more Jaegarn videos?
-You never know, but right now I have no demos left, so it is up to Fredde to start fragging again, haha.
  
Do you have any plans to do a similar series of perhaps any other player or team?
-As it looks right now, I have plans for a larger project, but I can not reveal more:)

This past week at E3, British billionaire Richard Branson announced the formation of his latest venture to add to his Virgin brand. Virgin Gaming will be an online gaming tournament that will feature competitions for some of the top games on the Xbox360 and PS3.

Over $1 million will be given away by the organization in the first year. The service will be pay to play with a 12% fee charged per tournament. With internet gambling on skill based games only being legal in 39 states, it is undetermined as to what type of interest the new league will attract.
