coL.TF2 Wins CEVO Season 5

June 16th, 2010

Post-Game

Tonight, coL took on Blight in CEVO Season 5 Grand Finals in a bo3. coL and Blight first started off on yukon, keeping up both offensive and defensive positions, the match ended in favor of coL after over an hour of game play.

The second map was played on cp_gravelpit.  Each team was given the opportunity to cap and defend all three points within a specific time period. Both teams played very well but coL did not get the upper hand in map two as they lost on gravelpit. Map two goes to Blight and a third map was expected shortly after.

Map three was played on cp_badlands. coL and Blight both hesitated to cap points for several minutes on round one but coL was able to back cap on Blight and win round one. After a few minutes, coL picked up one another point in the match, as well as Blight. The score was 2-1. Shortly after, coL picked up an addition point in round three and another right after in round four. The score was 4-1 in favor of coL as the first half ended. Within seconds, coL was close to a victory but Blight came back into the match and scored a point. With the second half in play, coL pushed up and capped all the points, winning Season 5 Finals. Good game to Blight.

Pre-Game

Tonight, coL.TF2 looks to close out Season 5 of CEVO-Professional on a high note as they take on the Blight Gaming A Team in the Grand Finals. The last time that these two teams faced in both CEVO and in the ESEA regular season, Blight had the upper hand, taking coL.TF2 down 5-3 in both matches on cp_obscure and cp_badlands respectively. The CEVO loss proved to be coL’s only loss throughout the season.

The match tonight is set to be a best of three with the maps yet to be determined. The action is set to begin at 11:30PM EST.

PG2: coL.cs vs UE

June 14th, 2010

Postgame

In coL.cs’s second to last ESEA match of season 6 before the LAN finals begin, the team came out hot against Underestimated as they battled for the second time in a week. After losing the opening pistol, coL knew they had to stop them early. Luckily, coL was able to take the 3rd round with their trademark deagle eco, putting UE in a tight situation. The two teams traded rounds for the rest of the half before coL was able to take the lead at the half behind strong fragging from thoMz on the CT side. The half score was 9-6. In the second half, it was all coL. Even after dropping another pistol round, coL.cs was able to take another save. It was all downhill from there for UE as coL cruised to victory thanks to several clutch rounds from Herotown. Good game to both teams!

Pregame

Tonight, coL.cs and UE square of for the second time in less then a week as they meet up on de_inferno. The match is a week 5:2 makeup for the ESEA-Invite division where coL currently has two matches left as they sit in 4th place at 10-4. UE comes into this match in 6th place at 9-5 after a loss against coL last week sent them falling through the standings. The match is set to begin at 9PM EST. As always, coverage will be provided.

TF2 Launches on Mac

June 12th, 2010

After years of anticipation, TF2 has finally been released on the Mac platform. To celebrate this, Valve is also offering a FREE weekend of TF2 for everyone. Valve had this to say about the release:

We’d originally planned to tease out today’s update over the course of 19 deviously brain-twisting blog posts, each containing a mercurially complex riddle hinting at the nature of the update. Unfortunately, everybody seems to have cracked the subtle rhyming codex embedded in our first blog post, which was actually supposed to be the most unsolvable of the 19.

So anyway. Team Fortress 2’s available on the Mac now.

Or is it?

No, it is. Sorry, that was Riddle #17. It seemed a shame to let it go to waste.

As part of the celebration, TF2 will be FREE to play all weekend, and 50% off to purchase. We’ve also got a little treat for anybody logging into the game from a Mac.

A trailer was also created for this occassion:
