CEVO Champs!

April 15th, 2010

Postgame

Tonight, coL.cs proved that they have more then the skill needed to regain their spot at the top of North America. Coming out on de_inferno, EG’s map pick, coL.cs proved to be too much. EG was not able to get a single round in the first half, essentially securing the win for coL. In the second half, EG managed to score their first round on the pistol, as well as the following 4 rounds. coL.cs, however, was able to take the final round on a solid entry by dboorN. The final score was 16-5.

On the second map, de_nuke (coL’s pick), the momentum continued. coL.cs took the pistol and rolled over EG’s CT side. EG, grabbing only 3 rounds in the half, would need a solid finish in order to stay in the hunt, however coL.cs continuously proved to be too much to handle as they took the final set of rounds and the win by the score of 16-3, bringing home yet another CEVO Championship!

Good game to both teams and congratulations to coL.cs!

PG2: coL.TF2 vs. Area 51

April 14th, 2010

Post-Game

coL.TF2 started out great during the first round by pushing back Area 51. It was only a few seconds after that coL picked up their first point in the game. As rounds went by both coL and Area 51 picked up two additional points for their team. The first half ended 3-2 in favor of coL. As the second half started, coL dominated with uber pushes and Area 51 did not stand a chance. The second half ended quickly with the final score being 5-2 in favor of coL. Good game to Area 51!

Pre-Game

Tonight coL.TF2 takes on Area 51 in week 2 of CEVO-P on cp_granary. This will be the teams first official match after receiving a forfeit win from Kculture.usa in week 1. Evolution Interviewed by Gaming Pirates

April 14th, 2010

Our very own Scott “Evolution” Cavallero was interviewed by Gaming Pirates recently. The interview discusses the future of coL.cs, including their plans for upcoming LAN events. Below is a little excerpt of the interview.

Will your team be attending the U.S WCG Qualifiers? If so how are you guys preparing and how confident are you going into this event?

Yes we will be attending the qualifiers. We will be preparing by going to Europe for a week or two to attend some events there. These events will be our primary focus and I believe preparing for these European events will sufficiently prepare us for the US qualifiers.

When did you realize that the competivity & impact of this game was tremendous and that there were actually leagues/events/ladders for this game. What did you then plan on doing?

Oh man, I think it was around 7 or 8 years ago when I use to frequently play in one public server and ended up joining a pub clan who eventually introduced me to leagues and later on to lan events and ever since my first lan I was hooked on traveling and competing.

It is being understood that many pro gamers are involved in match set-ups and illegal betting. Although the names are not being released at this time, it is believed sAviOr is on the list. He is considered the best of all time in StarCraft.

Many of these pro gamers have been intentionally losing their matches and leaking their team replay’s to corrupt gambling groups. 2008 is when betting sites started to contact the players to rigg their matches.

Currently, it appears that the following players are being investigated:
