coL Academy and Beyond Gaming Partner

The compLexity Academy is proud to announce that it has partnered with Beyond Gaming to host another round of recruitment for its StarCraft II division. While previous tournaments were limited to players of Master rank or higher, this time around the Academy will allow anyone in Diamond and above. The Academy has also decided to remove the age limit, meaning anyone residing in North America can try their hand at joining the squad.

This recruitment tournament will last the entire month of August, with registration opening on July 29th. Sign up quickly though, the registration period will only last until August 7th. In order to register head over to BeyondGaming.com/ComplexityAcademy.

The previous Academy recruitment tournaments followed a bracket format. This time around we’ve changed things. We have shifted from a bracket format to a ladder of sorts. Each match will be a best of three. The winner of the match receives 5 points while the loser gets 1. The top four participants at the end of August will be offered a 9 month option contract with compLexity. The contract includes: a SoundBlaster Headset, a QPad compLexity mouse pad, and the chance to earn a trip to a North American LAN event.

This month long competition is open to most StarCraft 2 Heart Of The Swarm players in North America. The top 4 players will win a contract from Complexity Gaming on the Complexity Gaming “Academy Team.”

Contract winners for the Complexity Gaming Academy Team will receive a spot on the Academy Team, some awesome gaming gear from Creative Labs SoundBlaster and QPAD Pro Gaming Gear, chances to attend major gaming events, and the opportunity to be promoted to the professional Complexity Gaming Team.

Registration for the Complexity Academy Recruitment Event opens on July 25 with competition running from August 1 through August 31, 2013. Players have until August 7 to register for free at BeyondGaming.com/ComplexityAcademy and to start competing in StarCraft 2 Heart Of The Swarm.

The map pool will include many of the popular such as Bel’Shir Vestige, Derelict Watcher TE, and Neo Planet S which have been hand-selected by Complexity Gaming.

Tonight compLexity-Dignitas SC2 takes on Axiom eSports in Week 4 of the Starcraft 2 League. This will be the first match for both coL-Dig and Axiom in the SC2L Season 1. Casted by legendary commentators such as iNcontroL, djWHEAT, Day[9], and Artosis, the SC2L showcases high quality content with easy and free access to the viewers.

The format of the league follows a team versus team approach. Within this team versus team setup, seven players go head to head with an opposing seven players with the goal of defeating their singular opponent in a one-vs-one best-of-one match-up. The first team to win four best-of-one matches is declared the match winner.

This weekend, compLexity’s Ryan “FilipinoChamp” Ramirez will be participating in The Video X Games at the Sonesto Maho Bay Resorts in St. Maarten, Carribean. FilipinoChamp will be playing in the Marvel Vs Capcom 3 tournament, playing against some of the best players in the world. The event will last the entire weekend starting July 25 and continuing through July 28.

Our very own Kevin Riley (“qxc”) is in Singapore for the Intel Extreme Masters IEM Singapore event. Action is set to begin for our American hero on July 26, 2013 – 08:00 CEST.

IEM Singapore is the latest and greatest in the IEM line-up of ever-changing events. It will showcase the finest in StarCraft 2 and League of Legends right now. IEM prides itself on a very robust list of players, top tier casters and high-end production. This year features a dual tournament, as there is a qualifier bracket as well as a group stage bracket of previously qualified players. QXC qualified directly to the group stages, by finish top two in a North American qualifier, beating out his team-mate Hendralisk for a spot. The stage is set for a fantastic event in the heart of Singapore, as qxc is feeling on top of his game.

TheStC in WCS America Premier League

Tonight compLexity StarCraft II’s TheStC will be playing in the WCS Season 2 America: Premier League round of 32. The WCS is a major tournament featuring some of the best players from around the world going head to head for a cut of the $100,000 prize pool.

The round of 32 is a group stage round, meaning TheStC will be playing three other competitors, with the top two advancing. The other players in TheStC’s group are: CranK, DeMusliM, and HuK. This match is going to be one you’re not going to want to miss. Last season TheStC was knocked out of contention in the round of 16 by CranK. Look for TheStC as he tries to get a little revenge on CranK tonight.
