For those of you who may not be familiar with One Nation of Gamers, it’s “a network of BarCrafts – N.Y.C., D.C., Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, Atlanta, Richmond, Irvine, Berlin and Baltimore- that uses the money raised by the these barcrafts to host new tournaments.” The first ONOG tournament ran the weekend of 1/28 and saw Kas, Illusion, and CatZ taking first, second, and third respectively.

For ONOG i2, One Nation of Gamers is pulling out all the stops, bumping up the prize pool from $3,000 to $5,000 and inviting the best pros from around the globe. MLG Announces Two More SC2 Arena Events

March 2nd, 2012

Today Major League Gaming announced, via Twitter, that it will be holding two more “Arena” events this spring. Running April 20-22 and May 18-20, these two Spring Arenas will be held in New York City. Unfortunately those are all the details, besides “packaging and pricing to come very soon.”

For those of you who don’t really follow the StarCraft II scene, this past weekend MLG held it’s first pay-per-view event, the MLG Winter Arena. Inviting players who preformed well at previous MLG tournaments as well as players who made it through grueling online qualifiers, the MLG Winter Arena saw some amazing games. Unfortunately a section of the SC2 community was upset over the idea of a pay-per-view event, taking issue with the $20.00 price tag to watch.

Despite this opposition, MLG CEO Sundance DiGiovanni has stated that the Winter Arena event was a success, meaning that it generated enough revenue to support itself. Hopefully MLG has run the numbers and come up with a lower price so more gamers can enjoy the action.
